Classic, Refined, Lavish, or Opulent – What’s the Difference?

Classic, Refined, Lavish, or Opulent – What’s the Difference?

When you're choosing a bouquet online, you may have noticed options like “Classic,” “Refined,” “Lavish,” or “Opulent.” But what do those words actually mean when it comes to your floral arrangement? Let’s break it down so you can feel confident in choosing the option that best suits your occasion and budget.

Classic

Our Classic bouquet is exactly what it sounds like — the original version of the design you see in the product photo. It includes the types of flowers shown in the image and is arranged in one of our regularly stocked vases. The Classic option is ideal if you’re looking for a beautiful, well-balanced arrangement that matches what you see online.

Best for: Everyday gifts, thank-yous, small celebrations.

Refined

Refined takes the Classic version up a notch. You can expect small upgrades in this option — for example, the inclusion of more premium flowers or an enhanced bloom swap, like substituting carnations for roses. Refined still stays true to the original design but incorporates subtle enhancements to give the bouquet a more elevated look and feel.

Best for: Anniversaries, romantic gestures, or when you want a slightly more polished design.

Lavish

Lavish builds on the Refined version by not only incorporating upgraded flowers but also increasing the quantity of blooms. This creates a fuller, more luxurious appearance without changing the fundamental design. The Lavish option is perfect when you want something that stands out a little more, with added volume and visual impact.

Best for: Milestone birthdays, sympathy arrangements, or times when you want a lush and generous bouquet.

Opulent

Opulent is where the design truly transforms. It includes all the enhancements of the Refined and Lavish versions — upgraded flowers and more of them — but also comes with a larger, more eye-catching vase or vessel. While the overall look will stay true to the original Classic design, the Opulent version offers a considerable upgrade in size, scale, and presence. If you'd like to see the difference for yourself, check out our popular Sunshine Squared arrangement below to compare the Classic and Opulent options.

Best for: Weddings, luxury gifting, corporate displays, or occasions where only the best will do.

A Note About Substitutions and Photos

Not every bouquet on our site includes all four sizing options. Sometimes that’s due to limitations with the original vase or specific design elements that don’t lend themselves to alteration. You may also notice that some designs have multiple size options listed but only one photo. As a small, husband-and-wife team, we wear many hats — from sourcing product and designing arrangements to handling deliveries and customer care. While we’re constantly updating our website, we simply don’t always have the time to photograph every variation.

That said, each bouquet shown on our site was designed and photographed right here in-house. They’re original, hand-crafted arrangements you won’t find anywhere else.

We occasionally make flower substitutions when necessary, guided by our substitution policies. However, we always stay as true to the original design and color palette as possible at the time the bouquet is made.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I customize between tiers?
Absolutely! Our price points are merely a guide, and our specialty is custom designs — that’s why our tagline is "Fresh. Unique. Flowers. It's What We Do!"

Can I get a Classic bouquet in a bigger vase?
Can you? Yes. Should you? Not usually. Designing flowers involves many elements — color, balance, proportion, movement, and focal points — all of which are affected by the vase size. If the vase is too large, the flowers and greenery can shift and ruin the intended shape. If it's too small, there may not be room to include all the components needed for a cohesive, beautiful design.

Do you ever offer limited-edition Opulent designs?
Yes! One example is our seasonal Grinch Trees. While they all share the same base, each one features a unique color scheme and hand-picked ornaments based on your general choice of color and theme.
